PhysLab

PhysLab brings together prototypes of animations and simulators of physical phenomena developed through programming, mainly in Python, as well as other languages and computational tools. The goal is to explore physics concepts through interactive models, visualizations, and numerical experiments.

Vertical loop: energy and contact challenge

An interactive classical-mechanics simulator for investigating the minimum initial height required for a particle to complete a vertical loop without losing contact with the track. The model connects mechanical-energy conservation, speed, normal force, and the critical condition at the top of the loop, for which the ideal minimum height is h = 2.5R.
